EXPERTISE: Virgil Nita is the founder and manager of VN Law Office. He is a highly skilled and successful Romanian lawyer with over 25 years of experience in the legal profession, with vast expertise in the fields of maritime and commercial law.
During his extensive practice, he developed in-depth knowledge and understanding of maritime and commercial legal areas, advising and acting on behalf of an impressive portfolio of clients in both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Virgil Nita is particularly qualified in representing our clients’ interests in complex litigation proceedings, both in front of courts of justice and in national and international arbitration. His experience as litigator comprises various cases in Romania, but also abroad, in jurisdictions such as Belgium, U.K., Germany, Italy, France, Netherlands, Greece, Turkey, U.S.A., India, Sri Lanka.
He is one of the most experienced Romanian legal professionals in the fields of maritime and commercial law, dealing, on a daily basis, with a wide range of maritime affairs such as charter party matters, ship arrest and detention, enforcement proceedings against the owners’ and cargo’s interests, cargo and freight claims, multi-jurisdictional disputes, ship collisions, shipyard and constructions matters, marine insurance, personal injury, seafarer employment issues.
He acted upon instructions of numerous Romanian and foreign corporate and individual clients such as the international receiv-ers/administrators/liquidators, Messrs. Pricewaterhouse Coopers Romania, PIRAEUS BANK of Greece, EUROBANK ERGASIAS S.A. of Greece, Romanian Seafarers’ Free Union Constanta - affiliated I.T.F. and also of leading law firms acting in the field of maritime and commercial law such as Ince and Co.(London and Piraeus Branch), Holman Fenwick and Willan (Piraeus Branch), Hill Dickinson (London), Vgenopoulos&Partners (Piraeus Branch), Bairactaris Law Offices.
EDUCATION: Virgil Nita holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy from the University of Iasi (1980-1984) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) from the University of Bucharest (1986-1991).
