EXPERTISE: Elena Adamescu has a vast experience in commercial and civil litigation and arbitration proceedings.
She specialises in various areas of maritime law, largely related to litigation matters both in the courts of justice and arbitration work, ship arrest, cargo and freight claims, marine insurance, seafarer employment issues. She also advised port authorities and port operators in non-contentious matters, such as drafting and negotiating contracts concerning the leasing and exploitation of harbour infrastructure and storage facilities, towage and pilotage services.
Elena regularly advises and acts for clients in the field of cargo and passenger transportation by road, air and rail, focusing on disputes arising from contracts of carriage, cargo damage and, also, breaching of passenger rights, particularly in air travel.
She distinguished herself by advising an important portfolio of clients in property and construction projects, including contentious and non-contentious matters. She advised investors and developers on major property transactions and, also, on all aspects of constructions and planning law. She also acted on behalf of various clients in litigation concerning property rights.
Her diverse practice focuses on employment and social security law, acting on behalf of employers or employees, in disputes concerning various employment-related issues or in non-contentious matters, as well as on consumers rights protection and consumers rights legislation.
EDUCATION: Elena Adamescu holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LL.B) from the University of Bucharest (2003 - 2007) and a Master's Degree (LL.M.) in International and European Business Law, from Trinity College, Dublin (2013-2014).
